Medical Lab Tech II
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, obtains patient specimens, performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, body fluids, feces, and reports test results according to prescribed laboratory policies and procedures. Responsible for the supervision and operation of the laboratory if so requested by the laboratory manager and performs any other task necessary to maintain the proper functioning of the department and the hospital.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or an Associate Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent education/clinical work experience.
Experience:
Minimum Experience: Previous experience as a medical technologist/technician preferred. Clinical rotation experience will be considered for students who have pending graduation date.
Certifications:
Required Certification: Certification by the Board of Registry (ASCP), NCA, AMT or certification accepted by the STATE DOH as an MT/MLT required.
