Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Performs examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome in accordance with standards set by profession’s national association, scope of practice and hospital policies and guidelines.

  • Provides age-appropriate and family-centered care in accordance with current evidence and practice standards, provider’s prescription and protocols and regulatory standards.

  • Completes documentation per departmental and hospital policy.

  • Demonstrates skills sufficient for effective verbal and written communication with providers, patients of all ages and their families, hospital staff members, and other professionals.

  • Supervises therapy aides, students and volunteers in order to maintain patient safety and regulatory standards. 

  • Participates in formal or informal education of new employees, students, volunteers, and members of same and other disciplines.

  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to enhance outcomes for patient care through individual patient care coordination as well as education and research activities.

  • Participates in professional development activities.

  • Expresses interest and ideas for participating in research projects, performance improvement processes, and outcome studies.

  • Participates in community activities, programs that benefit patients or program that encourage wellness for our staff and the community.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Current licensure to practice in the state of Texas in applicable profession.

  • Successful completion of training in accredited program in applicable profession.

  • Certified in BLS.

  • Eligible for membership in national association for applicable profession (e.g. APTA, AOTA).

  • Recent graduate to 2 years of experience
