The Opportunity:

As the Registered Nurse 2 (R.N.) for Cougar Health Services, you are an experienced registered nurse who practices at an appropriately independent level to provide patient care consistent with the nursing process. You will apply interventions supported by research and appropriate to your position, education, and practice environment, using the American College Health Association’s Scope and Standards of College Health Nursing Practice as a guide for the standard of care. In this role, you will also be familiar with and utilize electronic medical record systems to support high-quality patient care.

Additional Information:

This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt.

Monthly Salary: $7,304 to $11,976 | Range 69N Steps A - X | Salary placement is determined based on the successful candidate's years of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the salary schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. A valid Washington State license to practice as a registered, professional nurse AND one year of professional nursing experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training with BLS (Basic Life Support), or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.

  • Experience manipulating and entering patient data into an electronic medical record system.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)  

  • Ability to learn advanced EMR systems modalities. 

  • 3 years’ experience in med-surg, urgent, or emergency department within the past 5 years. 

  • Experience coordinating or chairing multidisciplinary committees or projects. 

  • Experience providing independent patient care under physician protocol. 

  • Membership in professional organization.
