Lead Dentistry Nurse
Location: Swindon
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (5 × 8‑hour shifts)
Weekend rota: 1:8 weekends with days off the following week
Are you an RVN with a genuine passion for dentistry and a desire to lead a dedicated department. We’re looking for a confident, adaptable Lead Dentistry Nurse who thrives in a busy, evolving environment, communicates well, and enjoys supporting others to deliver their very best.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse to lead four RVNs and one dedicated technician, guiding them day‑to‑day while maintaining excellent clinical standards across the dentistry service.
About the Role
As Lead Dentistry Nurse, you will play a key role in driving clinical standards and ensuring smooth, well‑organised patient flow throughout the department. In this role, you will:
- Lead and support a team of four RVNs and one technician, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Work as an active member of the clinical team while coordinating workflow throughout the day.
- Promote exceptional patient care in anaesthesia and across the entire patient journey.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring patients progress efficiently from admission to discharge.
- Use clear, confident communication when liaising with clinicians, Team Leaders and HoNS.
- Identify development needs within the team and support ongoing training and mentorship.
- Represent your department at leadership meetings, sharing updates and contributing to projects.
- Support service progression and help shape the ongoing growth of the dentistry department.
Who We’re Looking For
A Registered Veterinary Nurse who brings:
- A minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience
- A strong interest in or proven experience of a leadership role
- A real passion for dentistry and enthusiasm for developing the service
- Confidence with anaesthesia
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, flexible approach with a genuine commitment to patient care
Referral dentistry experience is desirable but not essential, we value passion, leadership, and a willingness to grow.
