Registered Nurse – Critical Care
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Critical Care Nurse is responsible for providing high quality care to patients who require a intermediate level of care. He/She/They has responsibility for all care given to the patient, from medication administration to constant monitoring of the patient for any changes in condition. The Critical Care Nurse collaborates with other disciplines and units, as appropriate, and utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
2. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
3. ACLS required
4. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or related specialty preferred/encouraged
5. Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
