We are looking for a skilled, detail oriented, Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Children and Family Services Division and provide critical nursing support at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Hastings, NE.
Job Duties:
The nursing staff at YRTC Hastings are responsible for physical health assessments, documentation of care, assisting in off campus medical appointments, assisting the APRN in medical and medication management care for our youth, maintaining clinical records, transcribing orders for medications/treatments and collaboration with pharmacies to access medications. Nursing provides immunizations to the youth, maintains required documentation for the Vaccines for Children Program, documentation of vaccines in NESIIS and also provides immunizations for staff as needed. Nursing staff provides the direction and monitoring of staff certified as Medication Aides, provides the initial/renewal/as needed Medication Aide training, audits for medication administration, documents medication administration errors, and develops corrective action plans to address any errors. Collaboration of dental, vision, mental health ,and any other specialty services the youth may require. Education is also provided, by nursing staff, for youth, family, and staff through the needs identified. The education is provided on an individual basis, in-services, or in group settings to meet the needs.
Pay Rate: $51.336/hour for new hires. Additional $3/hour facility differential pay and shift differential pay when working.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. on-call rotation, weekends and holidays off excluding on-call.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registered nurse in Nebraska.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with youth
Other: Must have a valid driver’s license
