About the role

At Bridge House, every day is an opportunity to walk alongside people taking courageous steps toward recovery. As the Withdrawal Nurse Team Leader, you will guide a dedicated nursing team through meaningful, person-centred work that genuinely changes lives.

This role is ideal for a nurse who leads with heart, clinical confidence and a steady, grounded presence. You will shape the culture of the Withdrawal Unit, support your team through complex and rewarding work, and ensure participants receive safe, evidence-based and compassionate care.

This full-time position is based at Bridge House in Highgate, WA. Standard hours are 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional ad-hoc requirements to support staff, supervise an evening shift on an on-call roster, or complete a shift alongside the team as business needs arise.

Pay is above award conditions in accordance with the WA Registered Nursel Level 3.

A job share arrangement may be considered.

How you will make an impact

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership that ensures safe, holistic and participant-led withdrawal care

  • Support, mentor and supervise a team of Registered Nurses, fostering confidence, growth and high-quality practice

  • Create a calm, structured and supportive environment for participants navigating withdrawal

  • Monitor key metrics, feedback and systems to strengthen service performance and participant outcomes

  • Coordinate nursing rosters and collaborate with the Bridge House Leadership Team to maintain effective coverage

  • Work closely with medical practitioners and nurse practitioners to ensure coordinated assessment and intervention

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance participant support pathways

  • Provide expert nursing advice to the WA AOD Leadership Team, escalating matters to the National Clinical Nurse Coordinator when required

What you will bring

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Experience in AOD withdrawal care and a genuine commitment to supporting people through recovery

  • Confidence supervising staff and guiding a team through complex, fast-paced work

  • Strong organisational skills, resilience and the ability to stay steady under pressure

  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills

  • An understanding of trauma-informed, participant-led practice

  • Mental health nursing experience or AOD qualifications are highly regarded

  • A current WA Driver’s Licence
