We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Lead to join the team at Waihi Beach Medical Centre, where delivering whānau-centred care is at the heart of what we do.


We are looking for more than just a Nurse Lead — we are seeking a strong clinical leader who can guide and support our nursing team to work efficiently and confidently. This role is pivotal in directing clinical standards, strengthening systems and processes, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.


This is a permanent position working 32 hours per week or fulltime, with flexibility for the right candidate. Remuneration will reflect the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.


He kōrero mōu | About you

You will be an experienced primary health care nurse with a current annual practising certificate with proven leadership capability and a passion for improving community health outcomes.


You will:

  • Have significant experience within the Primary Health Care sector
  • Have previous nursing leadership experience (essential)
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, direct and support nurses to work effectively within their scope of practice to maintain high standards of clinical governance and quality improvement
  • Have experience developing, implementing and refining clinical processes to support efficient and safe service delivery
  • Be an independent vaccinator and cervical smear taker
  • Ideally hold a postgraduate qualification in nursing (or be working towards one)
  • Understand, or willingness to deepen your understanding of, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori, equity, and cultural competencies
  • Be flexible, adaptable and thrive in a busy team environment
  • Be computer literate with experience in PMS systems (Indici preferred) and MS Office
  • Demonstrate strong time management, organisational and communication skills
