Minnesota State College Southeast seeks an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Duties Include:
- Participate in department and college curriculum development.
- Deliver classroom, lab, simulation and/or clinical instruction through face-to-face and/or online course instruction.
- Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.
- Participate in program accreditation and program review.
- Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.
- Advocate on behalf of students, program and college.
- Collaboration on public and private construction initiatives.
- Participate in professional development activities
Salary Range: $43,067 - $71,893
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract which sets limitations to the initial salary of a new faculty member. This may differ from the maximum salary range in this posting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree with a major in nursing, or
- Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education.
- A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
- As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
- Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.
Other Requirement:
Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Nursing, AD
Preferred Qualification
- Experience working with Clinical Simulation
- Familiar with Concept Based Theory in nursing education
- Previous teaching experience or demonstrated ability to teach in a Community College setting in both in-person and online learning environments
- Experience utilizing learning management systems such as D2L
- An understanding and knowledge of classroom, lab, clinical and simulation teaching methods, skills, and issues along with an understanding of an array of academic areas/programs and related issues.
Work Shift
Course assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend hours consisting of lecture, lab, simulation and/or clinical assignments in hospital, community settings and/or long-term care centers located in the Winona and surrounding area including off-site locations.
