The Registered Nurse FEMM Teacher provides professional nursing care in Fertility Awareness Based Methods for Franciscan Alliance, Franciscan Physician Network and Specialty Physicians of Illinois physician practice patients, while embracing the Catholic teachings and Ethical and Religious Directives. Provides individualized, integrative gynecological and prenatal care, following established FEMM standards and protocols. Ensures FEMM education is based on the principle of delivering age-appropriate education to the patients served and is committed to providing services for infertility with a deep commitment to a woman's dignity, fertility appreciation, and the sanctity of human life.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Promote FEMM and Restorative Reproductive Medicine by giving presentations at local churches and Catholic schools.
  • Collaborate with the local Catholic Diocese and assist with the facilitation of Natural Family Planning related support groups within Franciscan Health and local community.
  • Maintain certification with FEMM, providing only FEMM education, yet has fundamental knowledge of all Fertility Awareness Based Methods and Natural Family Planning methods.
  • Assists provider with patient exams and procedures, tests and treatments. Administers medications and treatments per FEMM protocol, utilizing nursing judgment and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care.
  • Gather and maintain statistics of program including inquiries, evaluations, FEMM referrals, basic hormone profiles, follow/ups, etc.
  • Maintain qualification, proficiency, and standards in teaching the FEMM model of cycle tracking.
  • Maintains knowledge of FEMM practices, and other methods of Natural Family Planning by independent study of professional journals and attending Natural Family Planning and FEMM continuing education programs through various programs including, but not limited to FEMM, AAFCP and FACTS conferences and seminars, in-person and online.


Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree Nursing
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • 6 months Nursing Required
  • 1 year FEMM Teaching Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
