WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Supervise managers or supervisors within one or multiple departments, and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage, and drive a high performing team.
Attain and maintain knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice and promotes futuristic thinking. Evaluate one’s own and others nursing practice; integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
Contribute to quality nursing practice; utilizes appropriate resources to assure that nursing practice is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, patient-centered, and fiscally responsible.
Create an environment that ensures effective patient-centered timely and respectful communication among patients’ families and significant others and the healthcare team to promote safety quality outcomes and a healthy work environment.
Collaborate with healthcare consumers, colleagues, community leaders, and other stakeholders to advance nursing practice and healthcare transformation.
Lead with professional practice setting profession, healthcare industry, and society, establishing an environment that supports and maintains respect dignity and trust.
Develop and manage one or multiple departmental budget(s), including making budget allocations, approving expenditures, and ensuring expenses are within budget.
Make decisions for direct reports in one or multiple departments, and performs people management activities, such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
Practice with the knowledge, skills, and abilities detailed in the AONE nurse executive competencies.
Practice ethically, advocating for compassionate systems of care delivery that preserve and protect patient, family, and coworker dignity, rights, values, beliefs, and autonomy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Internal candidates an Associate's Degree For those hired on or before 1/1/2019 with BSN required within 3 years, any variation has to be approved by the System CNO.
Bachelor's Degree Nursing/Patient Care - Required
Master's Degree in Nursing/Patient Care/Healthcare Administration/Business Administration or related.
3 years Progressive leadership - Required -AND-
3 years Area of specialization or related nursing care area(s) -Required
Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board - Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire - Required
Unit Specific Certifications - Franciscan Alliance As Required by Unit - Required
