Green Season Nurse
POSITION SUMMARY
The Green Season Nurse will be responsible for the safety of campers and staff while at the camp and will maintain supervision in terms of day to day needs such as ensuring the health & safety of the campers in the hotel, medication maintenance, monitoring camper’s activity in the evening, responding to emergencies that may arise in the camp lodge premises.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Green Season Nurse position requires each person to:
- Maintain that the health and safety of all campers and ensure that all their needs are met during the duration of the camps.
- Maintain the cleanest of the facilities at the health and safety standards, including sanitizing.
- Ensure camper’s health records and pertinent information, check in medication from school provider or parents, and answer questions or concerns that guardians will have. Nurse will also will be responsible with the medication distribution and ensure that the medicines are taken by the schedule by the campers and/or students. This includes but not limited to the distribution of morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon, dinner and nighttime meds.
- Manage medical kits, and medicine kits organized and stocked and taking inventory and ordering supplies when necessary. Coordinate those kits and first aid suppliers with staff, guides and management.
- Under the guidance of the Camp Director, ensure that the campers needs are met inside the hotel to maintain the safety and well-being of campers.
- Manage the camp hotel on a day to day basis ensuring that all safety parameters are well in place for campers, such as access to medical first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Ensure that camp lodge are thoroughly checked and any hazards are well displaced outside of campers reach.
- Stay overnight at the camp and should be available and responsible for any medical concerns or emergencies that arises. Also, full camp with camp schedules and any handover responsibilities delegated by Camps Directors.
- With nursing, medical experience, first aid certifications preferred.
